This was our original shot list. Our reason behind this was because it made sense to do it in an order showing a pattern. However when we came to editing the media product, it became too repetitive, therefore we decided to change it around to fit better. This meant, instead of having two clips the clipboard credit, two clips the chalkboard credit and so forth. Furthermore, we decided to cut out the running in the Forrest scene of the easing into the actual story-line. Our reason behind this was because after we had filmed the forest scenes and edited them together, it didn't form a horror genre film, it made it appear more action genre- not what we wanted to create. Therefore we just decided to scrap the whole idea and extend the creepy doll idea for the whole opening. This also meant we would have to rearrange the order because we didn't have that many credits to fill the gaps after every two clips.  This was much better because it meant we could build up that tension and atmosphere much easier. Below is the updated version of the shot list.

Production schedule

1st- Filming Kaya as the Two dolls using the location of Megan's house.

2nd- Filming the doll house and the playing with toy dolls

3rd Filming the "victim" photos in forest on the trees and across the ground.

4th- Filming Kaya running in the forest, after we have filmed the victim photos, using that time to find prime location in which she can run in.

5th- Filming the playing with the tea cup toys in the forest.

6th-  recording the narration to go over the top of our product.

Our reasoning behind this...
1. First we will shoot at Megan's house because it just makes sense- she leaves the furthest way from the college so it would get that part done quickly. Also, this would be our main shooting process where we film the main part of our product- the two dolls. This would mean, if we were to shoot this first, it would be this can be the first part we get the edit and perfect.
2. We will then shoot at the doll house because then we can get the next part of the doll toys. This would mean the beginning bit would be done quickly.
Overall we aim the shooting to take around 2 weeks
Then we will finally shoot the forest shoots nearer the end because this is the closest to the college and we would be able to shoot and edit in the same lesson.
The last part would be to record the narration for our product because to edit we do not need it as much. We are gathering recording from copy-right free videos on  YouTube and will be using this through out our piece.
As you can see I haven't put done exactly when we will be doing the editing because I think this will be occurring every time I can, in between each filming session.

Sample Script

No-one knows why they came here, what they want. We know what they do. No one knows how, but they don't leave- they won;t leave.
Do they want vengeance, why are we finding corpse after corpse, victim after victim? A new death, a new day, nothing with stop them.

Focus group Analysis- Questionnaire response

Secondary research- 3 Textual analysis

The opening to this film is a flash back- the story of how the doll Annabelle came to the women here. I hope our opening is a sort of flash back, although not a flash back to show a story, but a flash of the dolls, before all hell lets lose, mixed with the happiness of children playing and human dolls- setting the scene and making the audience feel at ease from the beginning.

The camera zooms out from a close up to the dolls face. There is a quick jump shot from the flash back to this shot- it looks as if this is now "up to date time". This camera effect works because we are seeing the doll for the first time- starting with an extreme close up is important because it creates a scary feel for the film.

The sound above the conversation between the people is daunting- as if quite crashing. This creates tension. I would like to use this idea in half of my opening, one half as nursery rhyme, the over half with the sound of running and heavy breathing and also an eerie piece of music (quietly) on top of it.

Also the conservation they are having about the doll, minus the "therapist"/ "church believers" saying there's no such thing, I think this would be a good type of narration above the scene of the person running in the forest- slow cuts of speaking- a way of explaining to our audience about the horror of the dolls that are haunting the town.

However in this film, the characters have close ups, I plan to have the person running in the forest, purely running, so their face is not seen, this will create mystery and if needed, we can use the same character as the dolls.

The mise-en-scene presents an oldish looking setting, obviously we can't re do a room/ studio do to the lack of money, however we can use our settings to create a doll house theme- someones room is flowery and child friendly, yet this is sort of ironic considering they are evil dolls- something children should be scared about.

In this film opening, it shows the mystery, not everything is explained and gaps are left open, for the later film to explain to us.

I chose this film opening to relate to our film because the main concept of this is an evil doll. I have also analysed the film opening of The Women In Black, which is in another blog post on here. This can also be related to my chosen film opening with the children playing with toys. Although thought I shouldn't do the same film twice and picked this one as well.

This was my textual analysis. As a group we done 3, this one was my one, Megan done "dead silence" and Kaya done "The Women In Black".
